Refunds & Cancellations – Bespoke Commissions
1. Introduction
Fluid Calligraphy provides bespoke calligraphy, engraving, and hand-lettering services on a commission basis. All work is created to order following individual consultation and agreement.
As services and items are bespoke and made specifically to a client’s specification, different terms apply compared to standard retail purchases.
2. Bespoke Studio Commissions
2.1 Studio commissions may include, but are not limited to:
Hand-addressed envelopes
Place cards and paper goods
Engraved or hand-lettered items
Other bespoke calligraphy or engraving and bottle painting prepared in the studio
2.2 All commissions are agreed in advance by email, including scope, quantities, pricing, and delivery method.
2.3 Once written approval has been given and work has commenced, commissions cannot be cancelled or refunded, except where the service has not been carried out with reasonable care and skill.
3. Amendments & Client Approval
3.1 Clients are responsible for approving spelling, names, quantities, and layout before work begins.
3.2 Fluid Calligraphy cannot accept responsibility for errors in content supplied by the client once work has commenced.
3.3 Any amendments requested after approval may incur additional charges and may affect agreed timelines.
4. Cancellations
4.1 Studio commissions
Cancellations made before work has commenced may be refunded, minus any reasonable costs already incurred.
Cancellations made after work has commenced are non-refundable.
4.2 Live event services
Cancellation terms for live events are outlined in individual project agreements or booking confirmations.
Live Event Services – Cancellations
4.3 Live event services are booked for a specific date and time and require advance preparation and the reservation of availability.
4.4 In the event of cancellation by the client, the following terms apply:
Cancellations made more than 28 days before the scheduled event date will receive a refund of any fees paid, minus any reasonable costs already incurred.
Cancellations made 14–28 days before the event date will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
Cancellations made within 14 days of the event date are non-refundable.
4.5 Where work has already been undertaken in preparation for the event (including planning, materials, testing, or coordination), reasonable costs may be retained in line with statutory consumer rights.
4.6 If an event is postponed rather than cancelled, fees may be transferred to a new date, subject to availability.
5. Delivery of Studio Work
5.1 Delivery method and timing are agreed on a project-by-project basis.
5.2 While reasonable care is taken in packaging and dispatch, delivery services are provided by third-party couriers and are outside our direct control.
6. Faults or Issues
6.1 If you believe completed work is faulty or does not meet the agreed specification, please contact us within 48 hours of receipt, providing details and photographs where relevant.
6.2 Where a fault is confirmed to be the responsibility of Fluid Calligraphy, an appropriate remedy will be offered, which may include correction or refund, in line with statutory rights.
7. Refunds
7.1 Refunds are offered only where:
A commission is cancelled before work has commenced, or
Work is faulty due to an error on our part
7.2 Where applicable, refunds will be processed using the original payment method.
